Looking into the Ojai skies has got me thinking... 🔭
Being among these Californian mountains on a hike at dusk with the starlight, moonshine and cleansing winds ringing through ridges is so peaceful.
It really lets thoughts flow smooth and free.
These are the times, when out in nature that really allow you to get a bird’s eye perspective on what’s working in your life vs. what’s not.
The reason I was in Ojai, California, was to drop off a case of Wild Chaga Rootbeer Elixirs to a high-vibe mixology bar called "The Chief's Peak" located at the Ojai Rancho Inn.
If you are in Ojai, California, this is THE place to stay.
With rooms decked out with a personal Jacuzzi, bed frames made from hand-carved hardwood, bedside palo santo sticks, and matchsets that say "i sleep with only the best", the place really leaves a solid impression.
Being able to travel as the main element of my business, go mushroom hunting in the most pristine and enchanted Canadian forests & visit the most high vibe apothecaries, health food stores, restaurants and mixology bars in California, had really got me pondering...
“What did I do differently over these last years of my life that’s made everything come together so perfectly?”
The answer to this question that I'm about to tell you, is really just a simple set of mental processes, combined with taking massive and immediate action.
Here are 3 mental dispositions that have transformed my life to one that I love and perhaps they will be that secret magic pixie dust sprinkled onto your third eye that empowers you to live the life you desire whether that be travelling, starting your own business or making "moves".
"I've Always Had that Knowingness That I've Got Something Magic Within Me To Share with the World”
We all have different DNA (or so what is known thus far), brain wiring and desires but conversely, no-one is cut from a different cloth.
What one man/woman can do, so can another.
In spending time around mentors/ successful people I admire and being open to their suggestions, I've felt it raise my own barometer of belief towards what I feel I can personally accomplish.
When you see someone else win, it makes it easier to believe you can win; so hang out with winners. Often. As in, ALL THE TIME.
You've got to feel that you've got that special something- something inside you, that you're destined for greatness and you're going to do some wondrous and powerful in this life.
If you don't feel this, then you need to alchemically change your self-image; the movie picture in your mind of who you see yourself as, and what you'll become.
This can be accomplished through listening to audios like Earl Nightingale's 1957 classic "the strangest secret", through books like the original "Psycho-cybernetics" by Maxwell Malts, through consuming high frequency "wisdom foods" like medicinal mushrooms (chaga, reishi, turkey tail, lion's mane), spirulina, raw cacao, shilajit and drinking living spring water.
All of these forms of alchemy I practice "religiously" because they do affect your brain chemistry, your feelings and lay the fertile soil for you to plant seeds of core confidence in yourself.
It's impossible to bring someone forward that practices those types of activities, eats like that, spends time with successful people regularly and who isn't living the life of their choosing. Impossible.
Without a firm knowingness that you are special, worthy and destined for greatness, you will be throwing empty powerless punches at the boxing bag of life.
If you're currently walking around without this level of "deservingness" to win in life feeling, or just want a little alchemical blast (and laugh) watch this video!
I recorded it a few years ago on a west side beach in Toronto, Ontario after watching one of my favourite movies "The Edge" with Anthony Hopkins.
PS. I'm a younger Shane here.
"I Embrace the Flux of Life - Because It's Always Going to be a Rollercoaster"
Nothing screams "ups and downs" like the life path of being an entrepreneur combined with wild-hunting the mushrooms yourself, with your own bare (bear) paws.
My golly gosh, this shit is badass.
All the stakes are turned up when you're burning a new path of offering something no-one's seen before (offering wild ethically foraged mushrooms to the world), managing cash flow, formulating, managing an international team and travelling,
It's taught me that when things take a turn, either direction, to be happy because when it goes down, it'll come up and when it's up, at some point it's going to dip.
Like waves in the ocean (especially like the sinister Venice Beach wave that destroyed Michael Edward Walsh), energy, success and challenges in life roll in and roll out. Success comes and goes ..and than comes back again.
The sooner I got "good" with however things turned out, whether it's radically how I envisioned them OR radically different then how I imaged they would, the better my life got.
I have this deep knowing that it's always going to work out perfectly, that I'm going to pull through just fine and that whatever "bad" thing that happens, I'll bounce back, as long as I keep barreling forward.
99.999% of life is outside your radar screen, meaning you have no idea what's truly best or upcoming that this "thing" that's going down, is actually helping to create something incredible to happen.
What wreaks people and makes their life a constant painful reactive experience, is that they can't see the forest through the trees; they can't see the big picture of what's happening and see their situations from a different perspective.
They miss the fact that on the otherside of all the "bad things" that have happened to them, the "nuclear disasters, avalanches and mudslides" that on the other side of that, is always a triumphant win OR at the least, that life has offered to them the seed of equal opportunity to succeed from.
By accepting both versions of reality, your best possible scenario for something happening and the cataclysmic "dooms-day" version (the worst case scenario) you give yourself a major advantage of removing fear and uncertainty because you know you can handle both.
Life is meant to bend you, brace you, nurture you and challenge you.
I literally repeat to myself daily, all variations of these phrases, OUT- LOUD with my mouth because the spoken word is the basis for your reality, your perspective in life and it begins changing neuropathways in the brain.
"Things are always working out to my ultimate advantage".
"I'm lucky, life is magic, I can have, be and do anything and everything I desire"
"I will win because I will never lose"
“When Genuine Desire to Empower Others Comes First, The Entire Universe Joins My Side."
What I've observed is that the common denominator connecting all my mentor's together is their love of sharing and truly wanting to see people succeed.
Genuine sharing with the intent to see someone rise up is the secret weapon to their success.
Their ship’s sails become full with the winds of their “followers, supporters & padawans” pushing them forward and guiding the whole boat to all levels of financial, health and spiritual achievement.
It literally seems that you lead with a philosophy of "how can I empower others" in everything you do, that the entire universe climbs on board with you to see you achieve that.
Certainly, it can happen that you slip and start leaning too far into the direction of things motivating you like money, status or competition (which are healthy and natural in the right balance), but when you notice you're slipping too far, getting back into alignment with your highest purpose (usually to empower others), it can get you back on path.
Do you know successful people, as in someone you can look up to?
What is their north star?
I'll bet it's exactly what I'm telling you right now; that they genuinely want to see others who are willing to learn, shine. If that wasn't their desires, then you wouldn't want to emulate them or look to them as a guide on the path.
Each time I look, I'm becoming more and more aware of how when my actions are derived from the deepest intentions to empower someone, I always receive the best results.
When you're at a rough point on the path, just remember that others you may not even notice like a younger sibling, friend or random person following you on social media, are watching and looking to you for guidance.
Be the fucking light.
Nothing can stop a person who’s true first goal is to see others shine.
Signing out from Ojai, California.
Your boy, and graciously yours,
Shane Tyler Milson
